Stainless steel cast pipe fittings
Common stainless steel materials for cast pipe fittings include austenitic
stainless steel (304, 316), duplex stainless steel (2205), etc., each with
distinct performance advantages tailored to different application scenarios:
– 304 Stainless Steel: Composed of 18% chromium and 8% nickel (known as
"18-8" stainless steel), it offers good corrosion resistance in general
atmospheric environments, fresh water, and low-corrosivity media. It has
excellent processability and cost-effectiveness, making it suitable for ordinary
industrial and civil scenarios such as domestic water supply pipelines and food
processing equipment.
– 316 Stainless Steel: On the basis of 304, it adds 2-3% molybdenum,
significantly enhancing corrosion resistance in chloride-containing environments
(e.g., seawater, salt mist) and strong acids/alkalis. It boasts higher
high-temperature stability, capable of long-term use at 930℃ or short-term use
at 1200℃, ideal for marine engineering, chemical processing, and medical
equipment.
– 2205 Duplex Stainless Steel: Combines austenitic and ferritic structures,
featuring ultra-high strength and corrosion resistance, especially resistance to
stress corrosion cracking. It is widely used in high-pressure, high-corrosivity
environments such as offshore oil and gas exploitation and desalination
plants.
